The Behlen Small Companion and Horse Waterer is a one-piece, heavily insulated design made from rust- and corrosion-resistant poly. Its thick styrofoam floor keeps the frost line below the waterer, ensuring reliable performance in cold climates.

The extra-thick urethane foam insulation in the walls provides over four times the insulation of competing models, tested to withstand temperatures as low as -20°F. A 75-watt, thermostatically controlled infrared heat pad, located directly beneath the water trough, activates at 42°F to maintain ice-free water. The heat pad is fully isolated, ensuring safety from electrical shocks.
