The JUG Single-Hole Automatic Waterer (Model 101) is perfect for watering horses, goats, and beef or dairy cattle. Designed with a super-insulated polyethylene casing, it works like a thermos to maintain water temperature, making it reliable in both warm and cold climates.
For energy-free operation in marginal climates, at least 15 animals per drinking bowl are recommended to keep the water warm. In more severe climates, adding a small 65-watt heater provides energy-efficient functionality or purchase the heated unit, part 10111. The JUG primarily uses thermal energy to maintain fresh, temperature-controlled water year-round, with an average seasonal electric cost of just $10.
